Here’s a company we’d like to put on you radar – Fire Department Coffee. The Veteran owned Fire Department Coffee is a small batch roaster based in Rockford, Illinois. Their mission is to pair strong values with strong coffee while producing some of the easiest drinking coffee for our nation’s first responders.
Everything Fire Department Coffee sells is roasted to order. According to their website, “You order. We roast and deliver. It’s that simple.” The founder learned early on in their service, and on the job at the fire department, that caffeine and good tasting coffee was critical for long nights and high-octane lifestyles. To date, their coffee has been tried, tested, and proven by thousands of our Nation’s finest blue collared men and women.
Fire Department Coffee comes in whole bean, ground, or K-Cup varieties. A pound of their coffee sells of $11.99 or pick up a two-pound bag for $21.99. In addition to their signature roast, you can also order a dark roast or Bourbon infused coffee. The Bourbon infused blend is a medium roast coffee with a light taste and aroma of Kentucky Bourbon. According to the company, unlike traditional barrel aged coffees, their infusion process gives the beans a uniquely smooth taste and delicious aroma without being bitter, smokey, or acidic. One pound of the Bourbon infused – whole or ground – will set you back $19.99.
In addition to the awesome coffee, there were two other things that caught our attention about Fire Department Coffee. The first one was their Department Pricing. Any Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement or Military organization can order Fire Department Coffee in bulk for their team at wholesale pricing.
The second was their partnership with the Paddy Brown Program. Until March 15th, Fire Department Coffee will donate 10% of all proceeds to this great organization. The Paddy Brown Program is a 503 (c)(3) charity that offers veterans increased access to employment and professional development opportunities in the first responder sector. “At the core of our company is a commitment to giving back in our community and helping other veterans,” said Mark Williams, co-founder at Fire Department Coffee. “We are very excited to be able to help the Paddy Brown Program support those who put their lives on the line daily.” In addition to helping Paddy Brown Program with its core mission, the proceeds will also provide travel and tuition to several firefighters who will be attending the Leadership Under Fire National Convention in Columbus, Ohio. There, firefighters will receive world-renowned training on firefighter survival, fitness, and mental resiliency.
