Someone just over promised and over delivered! The Tactix BDU pants that First Tactical shipped me reinforce my belief that high quality products don’t have to carry a high dollar price tag. Residing at 7,000 feet in the mountains, I am “go go go” 24/7 and a pair of utility style pants on my road runner legs usually only gets a month’s worth of mileage before they have turned into confetti. I not to invest too much into them, but in doing so, that typically means sacrificing quality – until now!
First Tactical engineered their Tactix BDU pants with the truly active person in mind. Stitched in the fabric throughout are fine details. From the jersey knit lined waist band (major comfort when free balling) to the hidden hemline with sewn in paracord, you can see the amount of energy and effort that went into designing these pants.
My first worry upon ordering from First Tactical was the sizing. Typically when I order from a brand that I have never worn before, I will go ahead and purchase three sizes: the size I am, one size smaller, and one size larger. My only hope is that one of them fits properly. That proved to pointless in this case because First Tactical’s sizing is spot on. The Tactix BDU pants run true to size.
The First Tactical Tactix are BDUs with a modern fit, which means you can don a bit of style while still being functional. Built to be robust with features such as rivet reinforced belt loops, Teflon® stain repellant finish, and YKK zippers, these pants still provide for full articulation and movement. Since I’ve started wearing them, I haven’t felt restricted in movement at all. I’m not sure if I should contribute that to being used to wearing BDUs all the time or because of their mechanical stretch double ripstop fabric.
Before I get too far into raving about these pants, I’m going to try to continue to beat the snot out of them over the next couple weeks so I can form some more in-depth option. However, I’ll leave you with a few initial impression after some use on the mountain …
- They are ONLY $64.99 and built like they should cost $164.99!
- Very robust
- Teflon® finished
- If you love fine detail, you’ll love these pants
- Even if they were $164, I’d still struggle to find any cons so being that they’re only $64 makes it even more difficult.
- They do attract pet hair
Stay tuned for more updates on the First Tactical Tactix BDU pants after I put them through some heavy outdoor use. In the meantime, be sure to check out their teaser video below and their newly launched Tactix Tactical pant.
