PHASE-Sc – New Textile Concealment Technology

VOORMI, a craft apparel brand out of the Southern San Juan Mountains, is making some serious waves in performance apparel. Their products are wholly manufactured in the United States and produced exclusively with their own proprietary fabrics. In addition to being internationally recognized and praised for their CORE Construction, they recently they unveiled their brand-new PHASE-Sc textile technology that will potentially revolutionize wool concealment layers.

VOORMI PHASE-ScPHASE-Sc is a new textile technology that allows VOORMI to create biomimicry patterns in their performance wool apparel. Unlike traditional surface applied print patterns, PHASE-Sc builds a concealment pattern one thread at a time throughout the fabric. The end result is a soft, quieter concealment garment with less light reflectivity. The color-blend technology works along side VOORMI’s other fabric technologies, like odor-resistence and moisture wicking, to create some of the nicest fine micron merino on the market.

VOORMI PHASE-ScTo kick off PHASE-Sc, VOORMI has released two new products that incorporate this new technology: the Alpine Terra Baselayer, the Blowdown Pullover. Let’s take a closer look …

VOORMI PHASE-Sc 3Alpine Terra Baselayer ($129)

The Alpine Terra is built from the same high performance moisture wicking DUAL SURFACE Precision Blended Wool as VOORMI’s Thermal II base layer, but it features PHASE-Sc technology to blend seamlessly with changes in your environment. It’s a great alternative to shiny surface printed synthetic fabrics and works well in a variety of light conditions and transitions. The Alpine Terra is available in sizes Small through XX-Large and is made in the United States exclusively from Rocky Mountain Highcountry Merino wool.

VOORMI PHASE-ScBlowdown Pullover ($199)

Built from the same performance SURFACE HARDENED Thermal Wool as VOORMI’s Access Midlayer, the Blowdown Pullover has been engineered all the way down to the fiber level to blend seamlessly in the backcountry. Just the like Alpine Terra, the spatially constructed, phase-dyed wool of the Blowdown provides a great alternative to shiny surface printed synthetics. It’ll work in concert with natural ambient light conditions and is a great do-it-all thermal for wherever your adventures made take you. The Blowdown Pullover is available in sizes Medium through XX-Large.

VOORMI will also be releasing the Blur Jacket in Spring of 2016. The Blur will blend VOORMI’s award wining CORE Construction with their new PHASE-Sc textile technology.
