Review: LT Wright Genesis Knife

1000 600 Logan Rogue

I’m a big believer in having the right tool for the job. Having a solid, functional knife is typically right near the top of my list. I recently got my hands on the Genesis from LT Wright and I was eager to test it out on some upcoming hiking and camping trips. I found the Genesis to be simple, yet elegant with an obvious focus on the blade. Just like the LT Wright Stealth I previously reviewed, the workmanship on the knife and kydex sheath is on point.

LT Wright GenesisThe LT Wright Genesis knife has an overall length of 9 inches with a sharpened edge at 4 1/4 inches. This is not the typical bushwhackers I see people trying to carry on day hikes, but rather a more manageable and usable size. The Genesis has a substantial carry weight, but isn’t excessive nor something that will it slow you down.

LT Wright GenesisThe construction is very sturdy and I would feel confident using it as an improvised tool if need be. The spine is solid, and capable for using on those things you normally wouldn’t want to ruin your blade on. The functionality of this knife is evident in the craftsmanship, I appreciated the simple yet functional aesthetics with each use.

Review LT Wright Genesis KnifeI was also really impressed was the Deep Woods Explorer (DWX) multi-use sheath that you can order with the knife. After using the combination on multiple trips into the woods with the family, you can easily tell that LT Wright put just as much thought and design into this sheath’s functionality as they did with the knife. They didn’t just slap some plastic around it and called it a day. The kydex is highly secure and smooth around the edges. It also comes with the added feature of being able tighten or loosen the hold of the blade. If this nice touch wasn’t enough, you’ll be pleased to find two more surprises. There is  a ceramic sharpener on one side of it and a slot on the other side for a fire steel.

LT Wright GenesisThe knife and sheath together, give you a solid blade which functions tandemly for built-in resourcefulness. This well crafted kit is fairly priced and manufactured in the US. This means that your purchase would also be supporting an American small business. I have no doubt you will be pleased with the high quality, long-lasting steel craftsmanship of the LT Wright Genesis. The Genesis delivers excellence for at a fair price. I highly recommend that you check it out.
