If you’re anything like me, you enjoy a good adult beverage or fine smoke after a long day of adventure. The challenge has always been transporting that Old Weller Antique or those Padrón ’64 Anniversary Series cigars and not damaging them in the process of getting from point A to B. Well, a new company named ViceKeeper is here to help.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, ViceKeeper started as an idea in 2014. The founders wanted to take advantage of the all the industrial grade cases they had access to and put them to use for an upcoming overlanding trip. Everybody knows that bringing spirits along for the ride in a 4×4 as it bounces and crawls its way down the trail is a recipe for shattered glass and a dry evening. The team at ViceKeeper reworked some of their cases, cut out some speciality made inserts, and the problem was solved!
ViceKeeper currently sells eight different types of cases: Blackjack, Franklin County, Havana Dos, Havana Quince, Loretto, Shenandoah, Silver Bullet, and Sonoma. While we would mind having all of them in our gear locker at the ready, let’s take a closer look at the top three we’re more eager to check out.
For those of you that are indecisive about what spirits you like to drink, or you want to instantly be the most popular guy at the party, check to the ViceKeeper Blackjack. The Blackjacks interior is precut to fit 21 airplane sized liquor bottles for all the popular favorites. 21 bottles, get it?
Bombay Sapphire for the gin and tonic? Check! A little Captain Morgan for that rum and coke? Check! Jaegermeister to relive your college days when you through you were the shit? You bet! The Blackjack weighs 6 pounds and measures 16.24″ X 12.94″ X 6.78″. It will set you back $169.99 and unfortunately, the booze is not included.
The Silver Bullet – Vodka Martini Case
If you take your campground martinis seriously, this is the case for you! Inside the specialty cut form perfectly holds a 375ml bottle of Ketel One Vodka and a 375ml bottle of Martini Extra Dry Vermouth (not included). You’ll also find cutouts for: two 6 ounce martini glasses, jar of Manzanilla cocktail olives, jigger, shaker, and four cocktail picks (all included). The ViceKeeper Silver Bullet measures 18.25″ x 13.79″ x 6.81″, weighs 10.50 pounds, and will set you back $244.99.
If kicking back and drinking some clear is more your speed, the Franklin County case from ViceKeeper is right up your alley. Named for the “Moonshine Capital of the World”, the Franklin County holds a quart sized mason jar of your favorite shine, a custom moonshine pour lid, and four shot glasses. This ViceKeeper case measures 16.24″ X 12.94″ X 6.78″ and weighs 10 pounds. Picking one up will set you back $199.99 and the cost of the shine is up to you. It all depends on if you’ve been out to see Uncle Jeremiah recently …
