Our friends at 5.11 Tactical recently teamed up with Folds of Honor on a collaboration we thought you’d enjoy learning more about. If you’re not familiar with Folds of Honor, they’re a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to provide educational scholarships to military families of those who have been killed of disabled while in active duty. Of the one million-plus dependents adversely affected by deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, nearly nine out of ten do not quality for federal scholarship assistance. Since its founding in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded over 7,500 scholarships. The purpose of the 5.11 Tactical and Folds of Honor collaboration is to help raise money and awareness about Folds of Honor through sales of a limited edition t-shirt.
The commemorative t-shirt was designed by Sergeant (Ret.) Legrand Strickland. Sergeant (Ret.) Legrand Strickland was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division stationed out of Ft. Bragg who sustained extensive injuries during an IED attack while on duty at the Pakistan/Afghanistan border. Prior to his service, Strickland was a professional graphic designer. To learn about more about Strickland’s story, watch the video below:
The 5.11 RECON Folds of Honor t-shirt comes in both red or blue colors, and is available in sizes S through XXL. 5.11 Tactical is donating 25% of the purchase price directly to Folds of Honor to help support their mission. The shirt can also be purchased through Academy Sports and Outdoors and Galls. For more information about the collaboration between 5.11 Tactical and Folds of Honor, please visit their website.
