Hydrapak, known for their easy to use and functional hydration systems, is adding an all-new 1-liter size bottle to their Stash collapsible bottle line. The collapsible soft-sided bottles were created to provide users with a low-bulk solution for water storage on the go. Whether you’re a backpacker that wants to reduce weight or simply looking for an EDC option that won’t take up a lot of space in your bag, the Stash bottle might be worth considering as it collapses to roughly 20% of its size when empty.
Stash Bottles are made from thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Lightweight, strong, and abrasion resistance, TPU is both PVC and BPA free and meets both United States and European Union guidelines for food contact surfaces. This material, combined with Hydrapak’s cutting edge engineering, is what has allowed them to create such a unique product. According to Sam Lopez, Director of Engineering at Hydrapak, “The Stash bottle series is a marriage of 3-D welding and molded TPU that has introduced a new category in collapsible bottle design.”
Using the Stash Bottle is simple. With a simple twist, the Stash Bottle collapses into itself and locks together. The 3-D molded base secures firmly with the top until it’s ready to be filled again. Take a look at the video created by Hydrapak for a better understanding how to open and collapse a Stash Bottle:
According to Hydrapak, the Stash Bottles nest conveniently together to further reduce wasted space. The 1-liter design (shown in the images above) features a standard 63mm opening that allows for easy filling and cleaning. It’ll also fit standard filtration systems and works with Hydrapak Splash Guards.
The 1-liter version of the Stash Bottle will be available sometime this spring and will retail for $19.95. Hydrapak plans to release it in three different colorways to start: blue, smoke, and lime. The 750ml version, the Stash 750, is currently available online through the Hydrapak website or sourced locally through one of Hydrapak’s dealer network. Look for some in-depth testing and review on MOTUS later this year when the Stash 1-liter bottle is released.
